Dispatcher at the Innovation & Performance Public Works Awards

Dispatcher Laureate.

On Tuesday 11 December 2018, the Innovation & Performance Public Works Awards ceremony took place, organised by the Moniteur group and the Fédération Nationale des Travaux Publics (FNTP, National Federation of Public Works).

Dispatcher took home the award for the Start-up –  Public Works – category thanks to its innovative IoT tracking solution used by Eurovia on the site of the A16 motorway repair and asbestos removal works. This trophy rewards creative solutions by start-ups formed within the last five years, offering a solution that helps construction and public works companies to improve their performance.

Dispatcher’s IoT trackers offer optimised traffic management through precise monitoring, and are particularly resistant and able to withstand construction-site conditions.

A proven system

This innovative system was chosen by Eurovia in October 2017 to equip its A16 motorway repair and asbestos removal site, in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais, where a fleet of 60 lorries were used to transport waste in France and Belgium.

A site with a number of challenges and therefore subject to stringent security regulations, the Dispatcher tracker has proven to be extremely useful for closely monitoring the entire fleet.  Eurovia has made the choice to equip all of its lorries with it.

This tool facilitates the management and monitoring of vehicles using its geo-tracking system connected to the Sigflox network, which lets you know their movements and active times. Robust and flexible, the Dispatcher tracker can be installed easily on new and old machines, leased or from the internal fleet. An autonomous and connected object, this case is specially designed to withstand construction-site conditions.

Remarkable improvements

On the site of the A16 motorway, three areas for improvement were identified thanks to the trackers:

  1. Traceability on waste deposits

With trackers positioned in the lorries, complete traceability on removal sites, waste-disposal sites as well as on trajectories and operational hours is now possible.

  1. Traceability between project stakeholders

The trackers have provided transparency on operations between all of the project stakeholders. Thus, discussions and decision-making are based on factual, operational data. Furthermore, this operational transparency has a positive impact on the conduct of lorry drivers and reduces delays.

  1. Rotation optimisation and analysis

The system has also made it possible to identify certain areas for improvement and thereby corrective action has been taken quite quickly. The main improvements concern trajectories and the organisation of lorry arrivals and departures.

Dispatcher’s innovative IoT tracking system has therefore ensured transparency and the collection of reliable, uniform data for the whole fleet, for the entire duration of the Eurovia project.

A rewarding trophy for Dispatcher

Maxime Guesne, co-founder of the Dispatcher product, shared his reaction to this prize:

“This fantastic reward is important recognition of the quality of our work carried out over the last four years by the entire Dispatcher team; it establishes us as a perennial player in the world of public works. It gives us exceptional visibility in this market that we have chosen. We would first like to thank our very first clients, those who trusted us at the beginning. It is proof for them that they chose the right digital partner given that their peers recognise us. It’s also an encouragement to continue, and this demonstrates how well suited to the market the concept is. and how public works companies have adopted it. We are pleased that we can help open these professions up to digital technology. We offer them methods and products that give them clear competitive advantages. Working for these businesses involves taking demanding and pragmatic approaches, and evidence of their effectiveness comes through experience.  We’re ready to meet this challenge with all construction and public works companies that want to.”

We would also like to congratulate the winners of the different public works trophy categories:

  • Technology and Research Category: EUROVIA
  • Equipment and Uses Category: CECCON BTP
  • Prevention Category: BESSAC
  • HR Initiatives Category: COLAS ÎLE DE FRANCE-NORMANDIE
  • Environmental Performance and Energy Efficiency Category: GROUPE MARAIS
